Thirty five former participants of the KBF US program from twelve different countries gathered in Brussels to gain new knowledge, exchange experiences and strengthen their international network. The workshop started at 10h15 with an introduction and overview by Lars Hamann and Erica Lutes. The first speaker of the event was Ludwig Forrest, philanthropy advisor at the King Baudouin Foundation, who talked about cross-border philanthropy in Europe. Julie Guegan, communication consultant and trainer, discussed innovative communications and digital tools in community engagement during working lunch. The afternoon started with a presentation concerning crowdfunding and philanthropy by Lionel Slusny, consultant at Loft Solutions and co-founder at European Crowdfunding Network. Christine Castille, community and communication director at the European Venture Philanthropy association, addressed a last topic: venture philanthropy. After these presentations, the BELvue museum was visited. To end this most interesting day, we enjoyed a dinner at the most beautiful location in the BOZAR, Palais of Fine Arts. A list of suggestions for a possible future meeting in Amsterdam was compiled. More photos of the event can be found on our Flickr stream.
