Certification of Documents

1. TRANSLATION

You have to make the translation of your academic documents yourself.

We will not make the translations, we will only check and edit them.

When translating your academic documents:

  • Translate literally

  • Keep the original layout (do not add or remove columns, etc…!)

  • Include all information as it appears on the original document

Do NOT try to convert anything into American terms.

Leave marks as they are and do NOT convert to American terms such as “B” or “A+”.

Do NOT translate “candidature/kandidatuur” and “licence/licentie” into “Bachelor’s” and “Master’s”.

Please respect the following rules:

French  Dutch Correct translation in English
satisfaction voldoening   satisfaction
distinction onderscheiding distinction
16/20   16/20
candidature kandidatuur candidature
licence licentie    licence

Write dates correctly: Born on 9th June 1980 / on 9 June 1980 / on June 9, 1980 / on June 9th, 1980 are all correct. Do NOT write “on the 9th of June 1980”.

2. EDITING

There is no charge for editing your translation. Since this is as an extra service, please note that it may take up to a week. So be sure to bring your translations well ahead of time! After your translations have been edited, you can take them home to make the necessary changes and bring them back to us for certification. When you bring them back, we need to see the papers we edited, your corrections and the original of your diploma(s). We also advise you to take enough time for your translations. We will not accept first drafts.

3. COPIES

Please do NOT make multiple copies, we will do it here (free of charge).

If the copies are not made here, we must verify each and every page individually and this take a lot of time!

4. CERTIFICATION

For the certification-procedure of the copies or the translations of your academic documents, there will be a charge of € 2/ page. We certify translations as well as copies of original diplomas.

Thank you for your understanding !
