Fulbright Scholarships – Grants for Harvard University

 

Candidates should submit a Preliminary Application to the Commission for Educational Exchange at their earliest convenience so that their eligibility to compete for an award may be determined. (Academic records, suitability of project, and knowledge of English are factors in determining eligibility.)

 

Students and Post-Doctoral Research Scholars completing or having completed a cycle of post-secondary education may be eligible for one of the following awards for an academic year of graduate study or post-doctoral research in the United States:

 

Frank Boas Scholarships for Harvard University

 

These two awards covering all or most expenses are available for candidates continuing their education at Harvard:

• The Frank Boas Scholarship in International Legal Studies

• The Frank Boas Scholarship for Graduate Study

 

Candidates for the Frank Boas Scholarship for Graduate Study or Post-Doctoral Research may be in any field of study except business administration and must have completed a year of work-related experience by the time of departure for the United States. Successful candidates will also receive travel grants from the Commission.

 

Deadline: noon on October 29, 2010


APPLICATION TIMELINE FOR THE HARVARD BOAS AWARDS:


November 1, 2010: Competition opens, applications available
October 14, 2011:  Suggested deadline for preliminary application form consisting of biographical data (roughly 2 pages)
October  28, 2011: Final application deadline at NOON (12pm) to submit a hard copy of the FINAL application (consisting of a 15 page application form with CV, (optional) writing sample, 5 photos, etc).
November 15, 2011: Deadline for 3 letters of recommendations
Mid-November 2011: 10 minute interview in English at the Commission for Educational Exchange in Brussels
Mid-November 2011: Applicants notified by physical mail
April 2012: Notification by Harvard of final selection
Mid-June 2012: Pre-departure meeting at U.S. Embassy and reception with the US ambassador
July-March 2012: Departures to the U.S.
