HOWEST


Howest University College West Flanders is a university of applied sciences with 5600 full-time students pursuing one of the 27 Bachelors and 7 Masters, covering a wide range of disciplines. Howest consists of four campuses situated in Bruges and Kortrijk. Students will find here an open, vibrant, cosmopolitan and friendly environment, which offers a wealth of educational opportunities, with the emphasis on high-quality and practice-oriented courses.

The Open University (OU) is the United Kingdom’s largest university and the world leader in distance education. More than two million people have studied with the OU since it began in 1969. The OU has more than 200,000 students in over 40 countries studying for a variety of degrees and vocational qualifications ranging from short courses to PhDs. Approximately 9,000 students are based in the EU countries (excluding Ireland) with about 450 in Belgium. Individual courses range from 3 months to 1 year in duration, across the full academic spectrum. Undergraduate certificates, diplomas and bachelors degrees can be obtained and there is a wide range of Masters programmes including the triple accredited MBA.

The Univeristy of Ghent offers a postgraduate program in American Studies: a full-time, two-semester, interdisciplinary curriculum is designed to intellectually engage the richness of American society in all its complexity. Students will complete seven courses treating American politics, economics, history, literature, and culture, and will prepare a final thesis on a topic of their choice, with the guidance of a member of the Program staff. The Program is open to Belgian and international students with a master-level degree and a strong command of English. All courses are offered in English by a distinguished professorial staff of Belgian and American specialists.
