On Monday 30 November at 5:30 PM, the Fulbright Alumni Association of Belgium (FAAB) and the American Club of Brussels (ACB) will co-host a Professional Development workshop on Powerful Communication!
What makes you listen to one speaker – and mentally wander off during another? The words matter. But how those words are delivered matters too.
We’re delighted to invite you to a highly interactive 90-minute Powerful Communication Using Voice & Body workshop with Business Communication Coach Melanie Hussell.
What will you take away?
Whether you’re presenting formally, leading a meeting or communicating an important idea, your voice and body language influence how confident, credible and engaging you appear.
During the workshop, you’ll learn practical techniques to help you:
- Use pause and rate of speech to create greater clarity, emphasis and engagement
- Strengthen posture and gesture to communicate with greater confidence and authority
- Become more aware of the impression you create when you speak
- Practice different techniques through short, interactive activities
- Give and receive supportive peer feedback
Networking with sandwiches and drinks from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, followed by the workshop from 6:30 to 8 PM.
This is very much a learning-by-doing workshop. No preparation is needed – but do come prepared to participate!
