The Fulbright Commission in Brussels is located at KBR (Royal Library of Belgium) and administers the Fulbright Program for Belgium and Luxembourg, the Fulbright Schuman Program (European Union) and runs an EducationUSA Advising Center.
The Commission for Educational Exchange between the United States, Belgium, and Luxembourg awards scholarships to Belgian and Luxembourgish citizens for graduate studies, doctoral and post-doctoral research, and lecturing in the United States. Grants can be awarded for a period of up to nine months and are open to all academic fields with additional Partner Awards available in specific fields. U.S. citizens who want to learn more about the Fulbright grants for study or research in Belgium or Luxembourg can also obtain information from the Fulbright Commission in Brussels.
In addition, the Fulbright Commission in Brussels administers the Fulbright Schuman Program. This program is jointly financed by the U.S. Department of State and the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG.EAC) of the European Commission. Grants can be awarded to candidates from any of the 27 EU member states for a period of up to nine months and are open to all academic fields, however, the topic of research must have a strong EU component. Awards are available to conduct research, or lecture on a topic that is relevant to US-EU relations, EU affairs/policy, or EU institutions and shows relevancy to at least two EU member states.
