This year, 8 out of the commission’s 12 Belgium and Luxembourg based American grantees attended orientation in Brussels on the 18th. The grantees were briefed on life and culture in Belgium, and on the role and responsibilities of the commission. Following the morning activities, the group had lunch together in the Grand Place. There Jerry Sheridan delivered a lecture on Belgian politics. The grantees finished the day with a walking tour around downtown Brussels. More photos can be found on our Flickr page.
